1. Introduction

Welcome to Mathix. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how we handle data. This Privacy Policy explains what limited data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used and protected.

2. Data We Collect

All mathematical calculations, graph renderings, and symbolic operations are performed entirely on your device. We do not collect the equations or formulas you enter. However, we collect a small amount of data to support the free-tier usage limit and in-app purchase verification:

  • Device Identifier (Android ID / iOS Identifier for Vendor). A unique, device-level identifier is read via the Capacitor Device plugin. This identifier is used solely to track how many calculations a free-tier device has performed and is stored in our backend database. It does not include your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information.
  • Usage Count. We store a calculation counter (calc_count) associated with your device identifier in our Supabase database. This counter is used exclusively to enforce the free-tier calculation limit. No calculation inputs or results are stored.
  • Purchase History. When you purchase a premium subscription, the transaction is processed by Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS). We receive confirmation of the purchase status to verify your subscription. We do not store your payment details.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To enforce the free-tier calculation limit and unlock unlimited calculations for premium subscribers.
  • To verify active subscription status via Google Play or App Store.
  • We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond what is listed above.

4. Data Sharing

We share limited data with the following third-party service providers strictly to operate the app:

  • Supabase — Our backend database provider. Your device identifier and usage count are stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database. Supabase's privacy policy is available at supabase.com/privacy.
  • Google Play / Apple App Store — Handle all payment transactions and provide purchase verification. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties.

5. Client-Side Processing

All mathematical operations — including symbolic computation, calculus, graph rendering, matrix operations, and ODE solving — are performed locally on your device. The equations and formulas you enter are never transmitted to our servers.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your device identifier and associated usage count are retained for as long as you use the app. If you uninstall the app, the record may remain in our database but is no longer associated with an active device.

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at support@mathix.app. We will delete your device record from our database within 30 days of your request.

7. Security

All data transmitted between your device and our backend (Supabase) is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. We implement industry-standard security practices to protect the data we store.
